The morning prayer was prepared by Sr. Raymonde, the Provincial of the French Province. We read a beautiful poem of Charles Péguy, that meditates on hope. 

“Hope, says God, that is something that surprises me. That these poor children see how things are going today and believe that they will go better tomorrow morning, that is surprising and it’s by far the greatest marvel of our grace. And I’m surprised by it myself. And my grace must indeed be an incredible force. And must flow freely and like an inexhaustible river. Since the first time it flowed and since it has been flowing forever. And that time, oh that time, since that time that it flowed like a river of blood from the pierced side of my son.”

In between the versus we sang:

“The myst’ry is this: Christ is among you, Christ, your hope of Glory. The myst’ry is this: Christ is among you. How rich the ways of God.”

 

 

Following the prayer we started our work for today. In the first session we collected the possible issues for the General Chapter, that were brought forward in the discussions in small groups yesterday. When we had collected the issues that were proposed by the different groups, Sr. Pilucca spoke about how to deal with all those proposals. You can look at these proposals as a list, she said. “I will do this first, then that…”. This way of working causes a lot of tension and also abstraction. You can also approach these proposals in a dynamic, organic, playful way. You can also ask yourself how to keep head and hand and heart together. How is this all going to be translated into action? Another way is to deal with all those issues as a constellation.

 

After the break, the General Council worked on the collected issues in order to come up with a working agenda for the General Chapter. In the meantime, the other participants had their intercontinental meetings. Guiding questions for this meeting were: Which of the issues mentioned are very important for your continent? What should we in our Provinces do to be able to bring some input to the General Chapter? How are we going to make the link with what we have done here and our Provincial Chapter? Each group gave a written report of their meeting to the General Council.

The afternoon was free and at 6 pm we had our Eucharist.

Jour 12

La prière du matin a été préparée par la province française préparée par Soeur Raymonde. Nous avons lu un beau poème de Charles Péguy qui médite sur l’espérance.

“L’espérance, dit Dieu, voilà ce qui m’étonne. Moi-même. Ҫa c’est étonnant. Que ces pauvres enfants voient comme tout ça ira mieux. Qu’ils voient comme ça se passe aujourd’hui et qu’ils croient que ça ira mieux demain matin.  Ҫa  c’est étonnant et c’est bien la plus grande merveille de notre grâce. Et j’en suis étonné moi-même. Et il faut que ma grâce soit en effet d’une force incroyable. Et qu’elle coule d’une source et comme un fleuve inépuisable. Depuis cette première fois qu’elle coula et depuis toujours qu’elle coule. Et cette fois, oh cette fois, depuis cette fois qu’elle coula, comme un fleuve de sang, du flanc percé de mon fils. “

Entre les couplets du poème, nous avons chanté:

“Le mystère le voici: Christ est parmi vous, Christ, votre espérence de gloire. Le mystère le voici: Christ est parmi vous. Combien sont riches les chemins de Dieu.”

Ensuite, nous avons commencé notre travail de ce jour. Dans la première réunion, nous avons recueilli les possibiles questions pour le Chapitre Général, qui ont été proposées suite aux discussions dans les petits groupes d’hier. Lorsque nous avons recueilli les questions proposées par les différents groupes, Sr Pilucca a parlé de la façon de traiter toutes ces propositions. Vous pouvez regarder ces propositions comme une liste, a-t-elle dit. “Je ferai cela d’abord, puis ça …”. Cette façon de travailler entraîne beaucoup de tension et d’abstraction. Vous pouvez également aborder ces propositions d’une manière dynamique, organique et ludique. Vous pouvez également vous demander comment garder ensemble la tête, la main et  le cœur. “Comment tout cela sera-t-il traduit en action?” Une autre façon de traiter toutes ces questions est de les voir comme une constellation.

 

Après la pause, le Conseil Général a travaillé sur les questions recueillies, afin de proposer un programme de travail pour le Chapitre Général. En attendant, les autres participantes ont eu leurs réunions intercontinentales. Les questions qui ont guidé cette réunion étaient: Quels sont les problèmes très importants pour votre continent? Que devrions-nous faire dans nos Provinces pour pouvoir apporter une contribution au Chapitre Général? Comment allons-nous établir le lien avec ce que nous avons fait ici et notre Chapitre Provincial? Chaque groupe a présenté un rapport écrit au Conseil Général.

 

L’après-midi était libre. À 18 heures, nous avons eu notre Eucharistie.
