At the beginning of this day, our Moderator, Sr Maria Teretia, invited some sisters to present a symbol of their Province as a form of prayer. Look at the creativity of our Chapter members!

We congratulated Hannie, our Dutch translator, on her birthday. After that, we started to reflect on the Spiritual Statement, written in 2019 by the Chapter Commission consisting of Sr. Philippa, Sr. Immaculae and Sr Marie Solange, based on the input of the respective Provinces. In November 2019, the Commission came to Rome, and they read all the input prayerfully before writing this Spiritual Statement.

Now, we were invited to become still and listen. We spent 45 minutes in personal prayer to hear what the Spirit invites us to do. The fruits of our prayer were shared in language groups.

 

 

After the morning break, we took the next step in our process of Communal Wisdom. We went from the personal to the Congregational level. What is emerging for the Congregation? Father Chevalier saw a new world emerging from the Heart of the incarnate Word, pierced on Calvary.So, to recognize what is emerging, we must go to the Heart of Christ. In language groups, we shared what we heard the Spirit saying for our Congregation. Each group was asked to present 3 points and their reflections.

 

In the afternoon, we had an ‘Emmaus walk’ along the presentations to see what was emerging.

On the feast of the Holy Name of Mary, the Eucharist was prepared by the Irish Province. Sr Linda quoted from the AA, ‘The central fact of our lives today is the absolute certainty that our creator has entered into our hearts and lives in a way which is indeed miraculous.’ And she continued, ‘My prayer is that, having also been certain that God has miraculously entered this Chapter Body, you will address the issues with audacity and put into practice the new insights and visions from the inspirational statement.’

Thanks to Sr Margaret, the Secretariat Coordinator and her staff, Sr. Jenny and Sr. Linda, the minutes of the previous days were available. Thanks a lot! Sr. Margaret was also elected to be the Chapter Secretary, who has the special task to draw up the minutes of the opening session and election of the Congregational Leader and General Councillors.

 

Déclaration inspiratrice

Au début de cette journée, Sr Maria Teretia, notre modératrice, a invité quelques sœurs à apporter un symbole représentant leur Province : ce fut notre prière. Regardez la créativité des membres de notre Chapitre !

Nous avons félicité Hannie pour son anniversaire, Hannie traduit le néerlandais. Après cela, nous avons commencé à réfléchir à la Déclaration spirituelle, rédigée en 2019 par la Commission du Chapitre composée de Sr Philippa, Sr Immaculae et Sr Marie Solange. Cette déclaration était basée sur les apports des provinces. En novembre 2019, la Commission est venue à Rome et a lu toutes les contributions, dans la prière, avant de rédiger cette Déclaration spirituelle. À notre tour, nous avons été invitées à faire silence et à écouter. Nous avons passé 45 minutes en prière personnelle, en ayant à cœur d’écouter ce que l’Esprit nous invite à faire. Les fruits de notre prière ont été partagés en groupes linguistiques.

 

Après la pause du matin, nous avons fait un pas de plus dans notre processus de Sagesse Communautaire. Nous sommes passés du niveau personnel au niveau de la Congrégation en notant ce qui émerge pour la Congrégation. Le Père Chevalier a vu un monde nouveau sortir du Cœur du Verbe incarné, transpercé sur le Calvaire.Ainsi, pour reconnaître ce qui émerge, nous devons aller au Cœur du Christ. En groupes linguistiques, nous avons partagé ce que nous avons entendu de l’Esprit pour notre Congrégation. Chaque groupe a été invité à présenter sa réfection en 3 points.

Dans l’après-midi, nous avons fait le “chemin d’Emmaüs” relisant les présentations affichées le long des murs pour noter ce qui émergeait.

En cette fête du Saint Nom de Marie, l’Eucharistie a été préparée par la Province d’Irlande. Sr Linda a cité l’Association des AA : ” Le fait central de nos vies aujourd’hui est la certitude absolue que notre créateur est entré dans nos cœurs et nos vies d’une manière qui est en effet miraculeuse “. Et elle a poursuivi : “Ma prière est que, ayant également la certitude absolue que Dieu est entré dans ce corps capitulaire d’une manière miraculeuse, vous abordiez les questions avec audace et mettiez en pratique les nouvelles idées et visions de la déclaration spirituelle”.

Grâce à Sr Margaret, la coordinatrice du Secrétariat et à son équipe Sr Jenny et Sr Linda, les minutes des jours précédents étaient disponibles. Merci beaucoup ! Sr Margaret a également été élue secrétaire du Chapitre, elle a la tâche de rédiger le procès-verbal de la session d’ouverture et de l’élection de la responsable de congrégation et des conseillers généraux.
