Sr Renisa, our Moderator for today, opened the meeting with a short reflection about our journey until now, reminding us that the Chapter is a time of grace. We sang  in Portuguese, “We are going and coming in the light. Everything is grace.”

 

We started our work by reflecting on yesterday’s topic, safeguarding minors and vulnerable adults. Father Chris invited us to listen to the Holy Spirit. Which three actions do WE hear that this Chapter needs to endorse to create as Congregation a culture of protection and care for minors and vulnerable people?

After personal reflection and group sharing, we presented our proposed actions in a plenary session.

After the morning break, we started to reflect on the issues of formation and interculturality, two of the vital issues, identified at the General Conference that are part of  the Working Document.

In the afternoon we continued our reflection of the morning, following the communal wisdom process.

 

 

 

 

As usual, we ended the day by celebrating the Eucharist. This time, it was prepared by the Indonesian Province. Because today it was the Feast of the Exultation of the Holy Cross, the heart around our Chapter Candle was changed into a cross.

 

 

 

We started in the Chapter room with a reflection on the Cross. Sr Monica invited us to gaze at the cross and to remind ourselves that by believing in Jesus Christ crucified we can be healed. Communal discernment has made us more aware of our strengths, weaknesses, difficulties and areas for growth.    In a procession, we followed Sr Albertine, who carried a cross into our Chapter Chapel. Of course, most of the singing was in Bahasa Indonesia, which we all enjoyed.

Sœur Renisa, notre modératrice d’aujourd’hui, a ouvert la session par une brève réflexion sur notre parcours, nous rappelant que le Chapitre est un temps de grâce. Nous avons chanté en portugais : ” Nous allons et venons dans la lumière. Tout est grâce. ”

 

 

 

 

Nous avons commencé notre travail en approfondissant le thème déjà abordé hier : la sauvegarde des mineurs et des adultes vulnérables. Le Père Chris nous a invitées à écouter l’Esprit Saint. Quelles sont les trois actions que NOUS percevons et que ce Chapitre doit considérer pour créer, en tant que Congrégation, une culture de protection et de soin des mineurs et des personnes vulnérables ?

Après une réflexion personnelle et un partage en groupe, nous avons présenté nos propositions d’actions lors d’une session plénière.

Après la pause du matin, nous avons commencé à réfléchir sur les questions de la formation et de l’interculturalité, deux questions vitales qui ont été identifiées lors de la Conférence générale et qui font partie du document de travail.  L’après-midi, nous avons poursuivi notre réflexion du matin, en suivant le processus de Sagesse Communautaire.

 

 

Comme d’habitude, nous avons terminé la journée en célébrant l’Eucharistie, préparée par la Province d’Indonésie. Aujourd’hui, fête de la Croix glorieuse, le cœur autour de notre bougie capitulaire a pris la forme d’une croix. Nous avons commencé dans la salle du chapitre par une réflexion. Sr Monica nous a invitées à regarder la croix et à nous rappeler qu’en croyant en Jésus Christ crucifié nous pouvons être guéries. La Sagesse Communautaire nous a rendues plus conscientes de nos forces, de nos faiblesses, de nos difficultés et de nos domaines de croissance.  En procession, nous avons suivi Sr Albertine, qui a porté une croix dans la chapelle du chapitre.

Bien sûr, la plupart des chants étaient en Bahasa Indonisia, ce que nous avons toutes apprécié.
