to honour Mary as Our Lady of the Sacred Heart,
the one chosen by God to be the mother of Jesus.
By her response in love and in total availability to the Holy Spirit,
she gave Jesus his humanity, following him even to the cross.
Contemplating with Mary his opened side,
we enter into the mystery of the Heart of Jesus
and receive the gift of his Spirit.”

Dear Sisters,
Today, as we celebrate the Feast of the Immaculate Conception of Mary and remember the Foundation of the Missionaries of the Sacred Heart in 1854 and the appointment of Mother Marie Louise as superior of our Congregation in 1882, we storm heaven with our prayers of thanksgiving!
We send you this greeting fully aware that in less than three months’ time, we shall be opening here in Rome our 20th General Chapter.
Today, on this memorable day, we start with our Chapter weblog. Sisters, please pray for us, pray for the delegates…let us pray for our Congregation and for each other. Like Mary, may we be open to receive the gift of His Spirit and fulfil our call to be missionaries of hope in a new world emerging.
United with you in the boundless love of Jesus,

Aujourd’hui, en célébrant la fête de l’Immaculée Conception de Marie et en nous souvenant de la Fondation des Missionnaires du Sacré-Cœur en 1854 et de la nomination de Mère Marie Louise comme supérieure de notre Congrégation en 1882, nous envahissons le ciel avec nos prières d’action de grâce !
