Aujourd’hui, Sr Renisa était la modératrice. Elle a ouvert la réunion avec une petite réflexion à l’occasion de la fête de la Nativité de Marie, réflexion écrite par Sr Marife.

Après cela, le Père Chris nous a conduit à travers les formalités du Chapitre, comme mentionné dans la Constitution nr. 211.D

 

 

 

Les deux plus jeunes déléguées, Sœur Clotilde Ngom et Sœur Marie Laure Lankoande ont fait office de scrutatrices temporaires, mais au premier tour de scrutin, elles ont été choisies pour être les scrutatrices de ce Chapitre.

 

Pour le comité de pilotage ont été choisies : Sr Immaculae Saminem, Sr Philippa Murphy et Sr Renisa Fonseca.

Pour le comité de rédaction ont été choisies : Sr Merle Salazar, Sr Gerardine Doherty, Sr Marie Christine Künzi et Sr Monica Kaha.

Nous avons été très heureuses que les sœurs suivantes se soient portées volontaires pour former le comité social : Sr Lorrain McCleary, Sr Maria Freire da Silva et Sr Philomène Iketa.

Avec toutes ces commissions en place, nous sommes prêtes à commencer le travail du chapitre.

Toutes les provinces ont été invitées à mettre en place leurs expositions concernant leur province et à mettre à côté leurs rapports.

La session après le déjeuner a commencé par la première étape de ce que le Père Chris a appelé le “World Cafe”, une méthode pour se réunir de manière informelle pour échanger des pensées et des idées. Nous avons marché en silence autour de la salle du chapitre pour regarder ces expositions. Sur des feuillets autocollants (post-it) en forme de cœur, nous avons écrit ce qui nous touchait, ce qui nous inspirait ou ce que nous voulions dire à certaine Province. Le but était de découvrir les liens. Nous ne sommes pas 10 provinces distinctes mais une seule congrégation FNDSC.

Lors de la deuxième session de cet après-midi, nous avons discuté en groupes linguistiques de nos expériences grâce à cette activité.

Nous avons clôturé la journée par une Eucharistie festive préparée par la Maison Généralice et présidée par le Père André Claessens, MSC. Au cours de la réflexion, Sr Linda Strayer a mentionné que le 8 septembre 1869, la chapelle de Notre-Dame du Sacré-Cœur à Issoudun a été bénie et qu’à cette même date en 1908, le premier Chapitre Général des Filles de Notre-Dame du Sacré-Cœur a eu lieu à Thuin, Belgique.

 

Today Sr Renisa was the moderator. She opened the first meeting with a small reflection on the occasion of the Feast of the Nativity of Mary written by Sr Marife.

After that, Father Chris led us through the Chapter formalities, as mentioned in Constitution nr. 211.D

The two youngest Delegates, Sr Clotilde  Ngom and Sr Marie Laure Lankoande functioned as temporary scrutineers, but in the first ballot, they were chosen to be the scrutineers for this Chapter.

For the Steering Committee were chosen: Sr Immaculae Saminem, Sr Philippa Murphy and Sr Renisa Fonseca.

For the Writing Committee were chosen: Sr Merle Salazar, Sr. Gerardine Doherty, Sr Marie Christine Künzi and Sr Monica Kaha.

We were very happy that the following Sisters volunteered to form the Social Committee: Sr Lorrain McCleary, Sr Maria Freire da Silva and Sr Philomène Iketa.

With all these Commissions in place, we are ready to start the work of the Chapter.

All the Provinces were invited to display the collages they had prepared of their Province and to put their Province Reports beside them.

The first session after lunch started with the first step of what Father Chris called the “World Cafe Process”, a method to come together in an informal way to exchange thoughts and ideas. In silence we went around the Chapter Hall to look at those collages. On sticky notes in the shape of a heart, we wrote  what touched our hearts, what inspired us or what we wanted to say to a certain Province. The aim was to discover the connections. We are not 10 separate Provinces but one FDNSC Congregation.

In the second session this afternoon, we discussed our experiences of this activity in language groups.

 

We closed the day with a festive Eucharist prepared by the Generalate, Father André Claessens, MSC being the presider. During the reflection Sr Linda Strayer mentioned that on September 8 1869 the Chapel of Our Lady of the Sacred Heart in Issoudun was blessed and that on that same date in 1908 the first General Chapter of the Daughters of our Lady of the Sacred Heart took place in Thuin, Belgium.
