One good thing we learned during the pandemic is how to participate in and organize Videoconferences via Zoom. Before 2020 most of us had never even heard of Zoom. In 2020, when the world was in lockdown due to the Coronavirus pandemic, Zoom became popular. That year, Zoom had an average of 350 million daily meeting participants. Students schooled from home, people worked from home. Also, the UISG started to organize Webinars via Zoom. Not only we at the Generalate, but Sisters from all over the world participated and met with sisters from different parts of the world.

Une bonne chose, que nous avons apprise pendant la pandémie, est la façon de participer et d’organiser des vidéoconférences via Zoom. Avant 2020, la plupart d’entre nous n’avaient même jamais entendu parler de Zoom. En 2020, alors que le monde était confiné à cause de la pandémie de coronavirus, Zoom est devenu populaire. Cette année-là, Zoom comptait en moyenne 350 millions de participants quotidiens à des réunions. Les étudiants étaient scolarisés à domicile, les gens travaillaient à domicile. En outre, l’UISG a commencé à organiser des webinaires via Zoom. Non seulement nous, au Généralat, mais des sœurs du monde entier, ont participé et rencontré des sœurs de différentes parties du monde.

In the Generalate we bought the necessary equipment and learned to organize meetings for our International Congregation to stay connected with our sisters. When we could not visit them, we could at least meet our Sisters virtually.

When Father Chris introduced to us the Communal Wisdom Process, we really wanted our Delegates to have an experience of that process before the Chapter would start. Thus, the idea was born to have a Zoom session with small groups of Chapter Delegates. Sr. Merle and Sr. Laurentia learned to host the meetings and organized them.

In small group sessions via Zoom, Father Chris explained the Communal Wisdom Process and gave the Delegates an experience of this process.

Au Généralat, nous avons acheté l’équipement nécessaire et appris à organiser des réunions pour que notre Congrégation internationale reste en contact avec nos sœurs. Nous ne pouvions pas leur rendre visite, mais nous pouvions au moins rencontrer nos sœurs virtuellement.

Lorsque le Père Chris nous a présenté le Processus de Sagesse Communautaire, nous voulions vraiment que nos déléguées aient une expérience de ce processus avant que le Chapitre ne commence. Ainsi, l’idée est née d’avoir une session Zoom avec de petits groupes de déléguées au chapitre. Sr Merle et Sr Laurentia ont appris à héberger les réunions et les ont organisées.

Lors de séances Zoom en petits groupes, le P. Chris a expliqué le Processus de Sagesse Communautaire et a permis aux déléguées de vivre une expérience de ce processus.

In her letter of January 2022, Sr. Marife wrote: “In this hopeful spirit, I would like to express my sincere gratitude, on behalf of the generalate, for your active participation in the “Communal Wisdom Process” via Zoom, in small language groups. We truly appreciate your active cooperation and full participation, and some of you, for your efforts in learning how to use zoom, in improving your internet or finding a place where there is a good internet connection. Regardless of the limitations of virtual meetings, the experience was much appreciated, sisters felt connected and strengthened by each other’s sharing of life and faith.”

Because Sr. Marie Laure had not been able to participate due to Internet problems another meeting was held.

Dans sa lettre de janvier 2022, Sr Marife a écrit : « Dans cet esprit d’espérance, je voudrais, au nom du Généralat, exprimer notre sincère gratitude pour votre participation active à la « Démarche de Sagesse Commune » effectuée sur ‘Zoom’ en petits groupes linguistiques. Nous avons profondément apprécié votre coopération active et votre pleine participation, ainsi que les efforts que certaines d’entre vous ont accompli pour se familiariser avec ‘Zoom’, améliorer leur utilisation d’Internet et identifier les endroits où une connexion Internet était disponible. Malgré les limites inhérentes aux rencontres virtuelles, l’expérience a été très appréciée, les sœurs se sentant reliées les unes aux autres et affermies par les partages de vie et de foi. »

Comme Sr Marie Laure n’avait pas pu participer en raison de problèmes d’internet, une autre réunion a eu lieu.

With the experiential formation on communal wisdom process having been initiated, it now feels like the Chapter has begun. And so our journey continues…

La formation expérientielle sur le processus de sagesse communautaire ayant été initiée, on a maintenant l’impression que le Chapitre a commencé. Et ainsi notre voyage continue…

“We are companions on the journey, breaking bread and sharing life; and in the love we bear is the hope we share for we believe in the love of our God, we believe in the love of our God.

No longer strangers to each other, no longer strangers in God’s house; we are fed and we are nourished by the strength of those who care, by the strength of those who care.

We have been gifted with each other, and we are called by the Word of the Lord: to act with justice, to love tenderly, and to walk humbly with our God, to walk humbly with our God.

We will seek and we shall find; we will knock and the door shall be opened; we will ask and it shall be given, for we believe in the love of our God, we believe in the love of our God.”

« Nous sommes compagnons de voyage, rompant le pain et partageant la vie. Dans l’amour que nous portons est l’espérance que nous partageons ; car nous croyons en l’amour de notre Dieu, nous croyons en l’amour de notre Dieu.

Plus d’étrangers les uns pour les autres, plus d’étrangers dans la Maison de Dieu ; nous sommes alimentés et nous sommes nourris par la force de ceux qui se soucient, par la force de ceux qui s’en soucient.

Nous avons été donnés les uns aux autres, et nous sommes appelés par la Parole du Seigneur : à agir avec justice, à aimer tendrement, et à marcher humblement avec notre Dieu, à marcher humblement avec notre Dieu.

Nous chercherons et nous trouverons ; nous frapperons et la porte s’ouvrira ; nous demanderons et il nous sera donné, car nous croyons en l’amour de notre Dieu, nous croyons en l’amour de notre Dieu.
